Thank you so much for considering a donation to FSK’s 2019-20 Annual Giving Campaign. We are excited about the incredible growth the school has seen and success stories across both our elementary and middle schools. Successes like increased enrollment, the addition of gifted and advanced learning programs, as well as dedicated programs to enrich both students and teachers.
We are launching our 3rd Annual Giving Campaign, and would greatly appreciate your support. Baltimore City Schools receive a per-pupil allocation, but it is not in line with the challenges and needs of our city and community. Even at a nearly 40% poverty rate, FSK lost Federal Title 1 funds, decreasing our overall budget by about $150,00 going into the 2019-20 school year. Contributions to this year’s Annual Giving Campaign will significantly impact our success in implementing FSK’s Strategic Plan, focusing on:
- Creating exceptional academic programming for all learners
- Exposing our students to opportunity in and out of our building through programming, the arts, athletics and beyond
- Ensuring a strong culture and climate for students to grow and thrive
We are striving to raise $45,000 during the 2019-20 Annual Giving Campaign, which will support the following and more:
- Theater Programming: $23,000 for a teacher, costumes, and rights to the shows
- Athletics: $2,000 per sport for the entry fee, coach stipends, and equipment
- Echo Hill Overnight Trip: $300 per child for a three day/two-night trip
- Transportation: $300 for buses within Baltimore City
- Student Laptops: $400 each
Gifts of any amount are sincerely appreciated as we work toward the goal. If you would like to contribute to the campaign in other ways (like volunteering your time to help solicit corporate sponsors), please let us know.
A thriving, successful school is an anchor to a successful community—a community that spreads across the peninsula and ideally ripples through our city. We strive to be a pilot for how to build a great school, and great schools have great families and committed partners. FSK has built and fostered a culture not only of academic achievement but social success. Your support is key to maintaining this.
Thank you in advance for your support.
