8th Annual Giving Campaign

FSK’s 8th Annual Giving Campaign is underway for the next 30 days, and the PTO would love your support.

The Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) is our PTO’s most important fundraising effort of the year, and it replaces common fundraising activities (pizza, wrapping paper, candy sales, etc.). Your generosity during the AGC allows the PTO to support FSK students and teachers in ways that would otherwise be impossible. Over the last several years, the PTO has funded the school playgrounds, a new audio speaker system, security improvements, field trips, and so much more. The year the PTO is funding:

The signature FSK student experiences of Echo Hill and North Bay ($30,000+)
Field trips (activity and transport) and sports team transportation ($30,000+)
Teacher and staff appreciation efforts and teacher supply requests ($24,000+)
Interior and exterior maintenance, landscaping, and facility upgrades ($25,000)
Playground maintenance ($10,000)
And more!

Our goal is to raise $65,000.00 from families, community members, and local businesses. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. FSK’s PTO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and we accept donations via cash, check, credit card, stock, PayPal and Zeffy.

What is the Annual Giving Campaign (AGC)?

FSK’s Annual Giving Campaign is our PTO’s most important fundraising effort of the year, and it allows the PTP to support the school in ways that would otherwise be impossible. The AGC runs for one month (November 12-December 12), and we encourage families, friends, and local businesses to donate. The AGC replaces traditional “selling” fundraisers like popcorn, candy bars, pizza, etc. Keep an eye out for more information coming soon on ClassDojo and in student folders!

This is a Public School! Why should I donate to the PTO?

Funding for public schools is limited, and funds raised by the PTO go into enhancing the experiences of students in ways beyond the school’s ability to support. Over the past few years, the PTO has funded the school playgrounds, the new audio speaker system for assemblies, security improvements, field trips, and so much more! This school year the PTO is funding:

$33,750 to support the signature FSK student experiences of Echo Hill and North Bay
$33,000 for field trips (activity and transport) and sports team transportation
$24,250 for teacher and staff appreciation efforts throughout the year, and to fulfill supply requests
$10,000 for interior maintenance and facilities upgrades
$15,000 for school grounds landscaping and back playgrounds

Why is this year important?

Donating this year is especially important because the PTP has lost a significant source of funding through the elimination of Harris Teeter’s school fundraising program, which typically raised over $20,000 per year. Additionally, last year was the final year of school support received in connection with the Banner Row development (the developer donated approximately $40,000 per year for several years, as part of an agreement reached with the community and FSK).

How much can I donate?

Any amount helps! Whether it’s $5 or $5,000, your contribution directly supports our kids and teachers. You can donate via PayPal (you’ll see a QR code on the AGC form when it is sent home), check or credit card.

Can we do Employer Matches?

Yes! Many local employers will match your donation, including Constellation, T.Rowe Price, Exelon, McCormick, Black & Decker, Whiting Turner, Morgan Stanley, and Northrup Grumman. If you work for any company who “matches,” be sure to submit a match request—it doubles your impact.

FSK’s PTO is a 501(c)3 non-profit. In addition to accepting donations through cash, check, credit card, and Paypal, we are able to accept donations of stock. Donations of $250 or more will receive a letter of acknowledgment for tax purposes. Individuals should consult with their tax advisors for specific information.
