As part of FSK’s commitment to beautify its outdoor spaces in order to enrich our students’ school experience, our community is working with Sol Raya Public Space through a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC), to create and install our new FSK Unity Mural. This effort is being led by Sol Raya’s Nicole Buchholz, muralist, as well as FSK parent & PTO Board member.

The design, inspired by student artwork as well as musings on why they love their school, will be painted by them on 5×5 sheets of mural cloth, and assembled piece by piece for installation. This will allow all students to take part in its creation. The mural will be placed on the building’s back wall, where it will be enjoyed daily at recess and during other outdoor activities.

We are incredibly excited to experience creating this mural together and enjoying it for years to come.
