Francis Scott Key’s Middle school is an advanced academic site in which students need to be accepted based on their Elementary grades, conduct, attendance, and PARCC assessments. We offer the following curriculum:
Math
We use Eureka math, but our honors class uses a compacted curriculum which puts students on track to take Algebra I in 8th grade.
ELA
We use a combination of Wit & Wisdom and Springboard that compacts the curriculum to ensure that students are exposed to above grade level text throughout their middle school years.
Social Studies
Students in our honors classes participate in National History Day with an emphasis on Current Events and Entrepreneurship once students reach 7th grade.
Science
We utilize the IQWST curriculum and expose honors students to The Morgan State Science Fair Competition.
