Elementary Pre-Registration for the 2024-25 school year opens at 8 AM on February 1st via this link. Information about our enrollment process is available below.

ELEMENTARY PRE-REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT 2024-25

For elementary school (Pre-K through 5th grade), there are two processes to become an FSK student:

  1. Pre-register with our school beginning February 1st, 2024 (that lets us know you’re hoping to come to FSK, and allows us to send you school-specific information along the way), and
  2. Officially register with City Schools in the summer (that makes it official with the district)

Middle School Choice and Enrollment 2024-25

For middle school, there are two ways to become an FSK middle school student:

  1. All 5th-grade students in Baltimore City Public Schools can choose their school for 6th grade — and those whose school does not have middle grades and does not feed to another school must fill out the choice application. Options include elementary/middle schools with special academic programming, schools that serve only grades 6 to 8, and combined middle/high schools. The school choice application is due January 18, 2024. To help students and families figure out what schools might be right for them, there are open houses and a school choice fair every fall, and a “school choice liaison” at every elementary school can answer questions.   2. 5th Graders who already attend FSK should indicate their interest in remaining at FSK for middle school to FSK administrators or school secretary, Mrs. Pitts, Mr. V-W, Mrs. Bloor, or Ms. Agresott and a registration form will be provided to you. This information will also be sent directly to every current 5th-grade family.

Open House Events in Fall and Winter 2023 and Spring 2024 for School Year 2024-25

We welcome prospective FSK families to come into our school building for one of Open Houses offered during the school year. At the Open House, you’ll hear from our principal, learn about the many programs and offerings for kids in Pre-K through 8th grade, get the inside scoop from current parents, and learn about as many other aspects of FSK as we can fit into an hour-long session.  

  1. Fall Open House: Friday, November 10 at 9:30 AM
  2. Middle School-Specific Open House: Tuesday, November 28 at 5:30 PM (Prospective Students welcome!)
  3. Winter Open House: Thursday, January 18 at 7:00 PM (Virtual)
  4. Spring Open House: Friday, April 12 at 9:30 AM

Middle School Shadow Days

  1. Middle School Shadow Day: Thursday, December 7, 9 AM to Noon
  2. Middle School Shadow Day: Wednesday, January 10, 9 AM to Noon

EVENTOS DE CASA ABIERTA en otoño e invierno de 2023 y primavera de 2024 para el año escolar 2024-25 

Damos la bienvenida a las familias interesadas en Francis Scott Key Elementary/ Middle School (FSK) a visitar nuestro edificio escolar para una de las 3 “Casa Abiertas” que se ofrecen durante el año escolar. Durante su visita, conocerá a nuestra directora (Principal Pitts), escuchará sobre los numerosos programas para niños desde preescolar hasta octavo grado, y oirá de padres actuales.

  1. Jornada de puertas abiertas de otoño: viernes 10 de noviembre a las 9:30 a.m.
  2. Jornada de puertas abiertas específica para escuelas intermedias: martes 28 de noviembre a las 5:30 p.m. (¡Bienvenidos futuros estudiantes!)
  3. Jornada de puertas abiertas de invierno: jueves 18 de enero a las 7:00 p.m. (virtual)
  4. Jornada de puertas abiertas de primavera: viernes 12 de abril a las 9:30 a.m.

Día de sombra en la escuela secundaria

  1. Día de sombra en la escuela secundaria: jueves 7 de diciembre, de 9 a.m. al mediodía
  2. Día de sombra en la escuela secundaria: miércoles 10 de enero, de 9 a.m. al mediodía
